The GOTCHA® Shark Mural. 2001 This one-of-a-kind mural was created
to illustrate Polage art's versatility and the creative reach.
Sixteen individual panels make up the single, integrated image
of the drama of undersea life, framed by palm trees and focussing
on an attacking shark. The life-sized diver is a panel of
polarizing filter, through which the murals colors come to
life.
Viewed through polarizing sunglasses or a hand-held viewer,
the Polage gives forth all of its raging color and life. The
whole piece measures 8 feet by 8 feet, each of the sixteen
panels measuring 23" x 23" each.
This unique piece is available for sale, it is ideal for a
science museum, aquarium, university or private collector/scuba
afficionado. It can be installed directly into a wall,
or can be purchased with the lightbox matrix seen in the photographs
here. Contact
the studio for details.
This image shows the panels without polarizing filter. The
diver hangs approximately 12" to 18" in front of
the artwork. When the art is reflected on any sort of reflective
surface -- a pool of water, a glass table or window, it displays
in full color. The colorful imagery at the right in the photo
above illustrates this phenomena.
Above, you see the Polage as viewed through a polarizing filter,
at the opposite orientation. The piece can be viewed through
hand-held viewers, polarizing sunglasses or panels of polarizer
placed around the environment.
This stunning piece represents a unique opportunity for an
individual or institution. Contact
the studio to discuss purchase or similar commissions.
