A light box gives a Polage the polish and permanence of a beautiful frame. You can still view your Polage interactively with a viewer, or, by reversing the piece in the box and turning on the motor, the Polage will change and morph in full color, gracefully and slowly.

If you plan to place the light box on a pedestal, shelf on mantle, the single tier frame with a stand is best. On the other hand, if you plan to hang the light box, the two tier frame hides some of the depth of the box and looks best on the wall. There are no stands for the multi-tiered light boxes.

Standard colors are black and white for the single tier, with the black being by far the most popular choice. The two tier frames are hand painted and can be custom coordinated with both the Polage and the room where it will be displayed. You may send us color samples to guide the choice.

Do You Need a New Viewer?

Have you lost or scratched your polarized viewer? If you need a new wood-handled viewer or even just a replacement filter, you can order it from the studio.

Do You Need a New Motor for Your Lightbox?

Austine Studios Repair Department will be closed until March 3, 2010.

Some lightboxes made five years ago or more and heavily used may experience motor difficulties. If you find that the image no longer changes on your 12 or 19 inch box, you can get your motor replaced by sending the box to Austine Studios. The charge of $195 for this replacement includes a complete refurbishment of the lightbox--including a new lightbulb and any cleaning or repairs as might be necessary as well as the return shipping. If you are handy and wish to do the motor replacement yourself, you may order the motor directly from this website along with detailed instructions for $75, plus $5 shipping [total of $80.00].

Please note that these prices are for the 12 or 19 inch Polages only. If you have a larger piece in need of attention, please call the studio.

Polage Art Protection Film

New materials are now available to protect and increase the longevity of the art surface and edges of existing Polage works.

We charge $35 for this service on Polage Art up to 19" in size, plus return shipping and handling of $15 (if art is shipped without a light box).

This applies to U.S. addresses only. For larger pieces please call the studio. Art restoration services are available for additional cost depending on the nature of the restoration.
