Capriccio is Italian similar to caprice in English, meaning tantrum or whim. In this case Austine is referring to the ebullient and busy colors and shapes found in an active coral reef. Here Austine features triggerfish, an angelfish, trumpetfish and parrotfish amongst the brilliant coral and sea anemones.
